Accor celebrates 20 years in Vietnam


On June 7, Accor Hospitality Group, the world leader in the hospitality industry, celebrated its twenty years in Vietnam and honored the students of PUF Hanoi’s Master in Hospitality Management. It took its first step towards becoming the main hospitality group in Vietnam in 1991, and is now present in Hanoi, Hue, Nha Trang, Phan Thiet, Ho Chi Minh City, and Phu Quoc island, with eleven hotels ranging from comfortable standards with Novotel and Mercure, to the highest luxury with MGallery and Sofitel hotels. In addition, Accor plans to open fifteen new hotels, for example in Da Nang and Thanh Hoa, introducing two new brands: Ibis, and the more luxurious Pullman. Accor Group is also known for its charitable activities. For instance, it created in 2004 a fund of 51.000 USD for “Operation Smile”.

Accor also cooperated with the French university Université Toulouse 2-Le Mirail and Pôle Universitaire Français à Hanoi (PUF Hanoi), supporting the Master program in Hospitality Management since 2008. Accor funds a fellowship program, allows recipients of the fellowship to do their (compulsory) six-months internship in one of its hotels. One its 20 years anniversary, Accor also honored our students by officially awarding three of its fellowships to students from the third intake of PUF Hanoi’s Master in Hospitality Management.
